Marion’s Long Service Award

During a recent Dinner Meeting Soroptimist International member Marion Griffiths received a Long Service Award marking 40 yrs as a Soroptimist
Marion became a Soroptimist in 1968 joining West Bromwich Club. This was a thriving club with some fifty members. Each meeting began with Gin and Tonics and continued with lively speakers and social evenings. In 1973 Marion transferred to Stourbridge Club where meetings were held in the Junior Library.
During 1997-78 Marion took up office as Stourbridge club President. Marion says, “It was an extremely busy and exciting time for the club. We became well known for hosting divisional meetings. Our seniors came into their own, creating beautiful flower arrangements, wonderful table settings and food to die for”.
Marion continues to be fully involved with club activities. Her energy and commitment never wavering.
